Join our presenters, Kimberly Smith and Ricci Wesselink, for an insightful webinar where they will share how they are transforming nursing education using Lt.This session will provide real-world examples of how Lt supports blended learning, custom lesson creation, and case studies to enhance student engagement and understanding in nursing, midwifery, and related healthcare fields.
Key Highlights:
- Learn how Lt is utilized across various nursing and healthcare programs, including Bachelor of Nursing (BN) and Enrolled Nursing (EN) courses.
- Uncover effective teaching methods tailored for different stages of healthcare education, including flipped classrooms and case-based learning.
- Dive into the ways Lt-developed case studies are used to bring theory to life, allowing students to connect bioscience concepts with practical, clinical applications.
- Gain insights from real-world feedback, including student and staff experiences, and measurable improvements in student performance and engagement.
Abstract:
In this session, Kimberly and Ricci will demonstrate how they have integrated Lt into their nursing education programs at Otago Polytechnic and Wintec. They will discuss how blended learning, custom lesson creation, and case studies have transformed their teaching approaches and significantly improved student engagement and outcomes. The presenters will share how the move to digital resources helped address challenges like providing more interactivity and variety in course delivery, leading to measurable gains in student performance, particularly among Māori and Pacific students. This session will be interactive, offering participants the opportunity to discuss their own experiences, share challenges, and exchange ideas on how to further enhance nursing education through online learning tools like Lt.
