ADInstruments held three successful training workshops for UK and Scandinavian researchers and educators over three days during August, 2008.
The workshops at the Royal Society of Medicine in central London attracted over 50 delegates, with varying experience using PowerLab who wanted to learn more about the features of ADInstruments software programs.
LabChart Workshops for ResearchersDuring the morning sessions of the first two days, research customers were shown some of the basic, but important features of LabChart 6, including channel set-ups, and range and sampling rates. Many customers stayed for the afternoon workshops, which focused on the more advanced features of data extraction and analysis including filtering and Macro writing. The afternoon workshops also included an introduction to several modules in the LabChart Pro software package.
Delegates were given opportunities to try out a number of exercises for themselves and to discuss their own research application data with ADInstruments UK staff.
Physiology Teaching and LabAuthor Workshops for EducatorsOn the third day of the workshop, education customers were given the opportunity to perform some hands on human physiology experiments using LabChart and LabTutor software with the PowerLab 26T systems for education. Experiments included respiration, ECG and muscle.
In the afternoon workshop, customers wanting to modify and create their own LabTutor experiments were giving some training on the key editing principles of LabAuthor authoring tools, such as changing text and images, altering settings in the data acquisition panel and saving experiments into the LabTutor interface.
The UK office is planning to hold many similar workshops throughout the UK and Western Europe and we encourage customers to check the Events pages on a regular basis or to email: training.eu@adinstruments.com for details of upcoming events in your area.
