Record Blood Pressure, Biopotentials, SNA and Temperature Wirelessly from Free Moving Animals

The latest range of wireless hardware from ADInstruments and Telemetry Research offers researchers new and enhanced options for recording from small and large animals. Up to three signals can be recorded from one transmitter and continuous recording is enabled through in situ recharging during data acquisition. The new transmitters and receivers connect seamlessly with PowerLab data acquisition systems, and are supported by our latest software innovations, including the unlimited file size in LabChart v6.1 and specialized analysis tools for long-term recordings in the Circadian Analysis Module.

Record Any Pressure Wirelessly

The new equipment release features transmitters that can record arterial, venous, pleural and bladder pressure. Transmitters are available for small and large animals, and each transmitter also simultaneously records temperature.
SNA and arterial pressure data recorded simultaneously from a conscious rat using a single Telemetry Research receiver and PowerLab data acquisition system.

Record Up to Three Signals with One Transmitter

The new release also features transmitters and receivers that can record three different signals from one animal simultaneously. Signal combinations include:
  • Pressure, biopotential (ECG, EEG, EOG or EMG) and temperature
  • Two biopotentials and temperature
  • Biopotential, SNA and temperature
  • Pressure, SNA and temperature
Simultaneous ECG and EEG telemetry recording from a rat.

Lifetime Recording from Small Animals

Telemetry Research small animal transmitters can be recharged in vivo using the wireless continuous power supplier included in each ADInstruments Telemetry Foundation System. This means you can record 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the lifetime of the animal.

Small animal transmitters that can simultaneously recharge and record include:
  • MLE1010 Telemetry Biopotential Transmitter
  • MLE1014 Telemetry Pressure Transmitter
  • MLE1016 Telemetry Pressure and Biopotential Transmitter
  • MLE1012 Telemetry Dual Biopotential Transmitter
  • MLE1018 Telemetry SNA and Biopotential Transmitter
  • MLE1022 Telemetry SNA and Pressure Transmitter

Use Subsidiary Receivers to Record from Up to Five Transmitters Simultaneously

When purchasing any Telemetry System featuring a Master Receiver Controller (MRC), you can now also purchase subsidiary receivers for a fraction of the MRC price. Each subsidiary receiver allows you to record simultaneously from an additional transmitter/animal.

Please note that:
  • A 16 channel PowerLab can acquire data simultaneously from a maximum of 5 different receivers, where each receiver is recording three signals from one transmitter (a total of 15 data channels)
  • A 16 channel PowerLab can acquire data simultaneously from a maximum of 8 different receivers, where each receiver is recording two signals from one transmitter (a total of 16 data channels)
Example setup of a single PowerLab recording simultaneously from two animals, using a Master Receiver Controller and a subsidiary receiver. The transmitters care being recharged as they record using the Wireless Continuous Power Supplier pads.

Schedule One Receiver to Record Consecutively from Eight Transmitters

Using the ADInstruments TR Scheduler Pod and the LabChart Scheduler Extension, you can control a single receiver to schedule consecutive recordings from up to eight different receivers.

Schedules are easy to set-up or restore from previous recordings, and the signals recorded from each transmitter are recorded in separate LabChart documents to make analysis as easy as possible.

Example setup of the TR Scheduler Pod switching a single telemetry receiver between recording from two different transmitters.

New LabChart Software Features and Circadian Analysis Module

Our new telemetry hardware is supported by the virtually unlimited file size in LabChart v6.1 for Windows. Now, the amount of data you can record is only limited by your hard disk. This is ideal for long-term, continuous monitoring. Additionally, the recently-released Circadian Analysis Module for LabChart provides fast analysis options for long term recordings.

Fast Track Your Research with LabChart Pro

Included as part of the ADInstruments Telemetry Foundation Systems, LabChart Pro includes a number of powerful analysis modules to automate data analysis and extraction. In addition to Circadian Analysis, modules ideal for wireless monitoring of animals include: Blood Pressure, ECG Analysis, Heart Rate Variability, Spike Analysis, Peak Analysis and Dose Response. This powerful combination of software will get you publishing research papers sooner!

Customize Your Complete Research System

ADInstruments has developed a range of Telemetry Foundation Systems featuring the new telemetry equipment and our latest software releases. Each Foundation System includes a PowerLab, LabChart Pro software (featuring each LabChart Module for advanced analysis), a signal-specific Master Receiver Controller unit, the TR Scheduler Pod and a Wireless Continuous Power Supplier for small animal transmitters.

To create a complete research system that suits your exact needs, you then select and separately purchase the appropriate transmitters, and any subsidiary receivers you require.
