We'd like to highlight some of the research and education endeavours our customers are undertaking. After all, it is our customers that have supported us through the last twenty years. Plus, each User in Focus story is an interesting read. Enjoy.
Dr. M. (Ken) Kengatharan, co-founder of South San Francisco based biopharmaceutical company, Athenagen, Inc (later re-named CoMentis, Inc) has been using PowerLab systems to advance his research for 15 years. During this time he has progressed from being a doctoral student to becoming Vice President, Translational Research and Scientific Affairs at CoMentis.
In 1988 several scientists at the University of Wollongong pioneered the use of a compact, inexpensive computer-based data acquisition and analysis system that had been developed by the newly-established company, ADInstruments. Twenty years later, and educators at Wollongong continue to use PowerLab across five different courses in a range of applications.
As the North American summer vacation begins, the educators at West Chester University in Pennsylvania are using their break from teaching 400 students with PowerLab to share curriculum and experiment ideas with life science educators from institutions across the country.
In 2007, the effect of climate change on notothenioid fish prompted researchers from New Zealand and Sweden to pack up their PowerLab systems and travel to the Scott Base in Antarctica. The researchers investigated how a rise in water temperature affects the cardiovascular and respiratory physiology of the borch.
LabTutor software has been one of our most innovative developments for life science teaching. Learn how the University of Otago and the University of Western Sydney are using LabTutor to enhance introductory physiology courses during the first year of health science and medicine degrees.
Read about a group of Canadian researchers using PowerLab to investigate how life on the International Space Station affects astronauts' cardiovascular
and cerebrovascular physiology.
If you're a fan of history, then this page is for you. Read about the birth of the company, product development timelines, and view some interesting images from way back then.
